LDRS Creative ~ Time to Sparkle

Hello There,

I am here today to share a really special card with you. Earlier this month I shared my first card using Tim Holtz's Distress Crayons and this is the second project I created from my experimental backgrounds made at June's Crop.

I had a lot of fun coloring this All Dressed Up Stamp called "Time to Sparkle" so that she would match the background. Isn't sassy and sweet?

For a little flair I used the Darling Square Die Set to add the flourishes and added simple rhinestones to each flower.

Thank you for stopping in today. I hope you have a crafty day!!!

Elizabeth Craft Designs Gift Giving Challenge

Hi There,

Today over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs' challenge blog we are having a really fun challenge featuring some fun handmade giftables which are perfect for the back to school/holidays.

I am featuring a little card giftset that I created following a YouTube video by scrimpingmommy, I have no affiliation with this crafter but wanted to give a shout out for the video that inpired this post. You can view it HERE.

I added a little faux stitching where the giftcard is just for a little added interest.

I have used some of the ADORABLE designer paper by Elizabeth Craft Designs. Have you seen all the wonderful papers we carry? If not click HERE. The paper I have used in this project is from the "Color of Puppies - Girl" set. For the card fronts I used white Soft Finish card stock and the Dotted Scalloped Squares die set. For the images on each card front, I simply fussy cut out the 4 adorable images from the front of the paper insert/packaging.

Aren't they stinkin cute??? and the beauty is that I only used the designer paper pack, one set of dies, sissors and glue :-) Easy Peasy!

I hope you have enjoyed todays post. I look forward to sharing more with you in the future.

Melanie.

Elizabeth Craft Designs' ~ Our First Expo Experience.

Hi Friends,

Just popping by today to share with you a few really special photos that were taken in July at the Scrapbook Expo in Duluth Ga. I worked with the owners of Elizabeth Craft Designs, Els & Joep, and the three of us set up the Expo booth together. It took 8 full hours to go from a blank slate to a full booth.

When I arrived nobody was there yet but the tables and two of these large containers which were unloaded from the Semi Trucks all lined up outside.

Once Els and Joep arrived they began unveiling the containers and low and behold inside the first container were ULINE boxes so of course I had to take a pic for Randy since he works for the company.

As the day went on we stocked the racks with all of the beautiful product that we carry. I had a lot of my friends stop by who had never even heard of Elizabeth Crafct Designs and YEP, you guessed it.... They went home with handfuls of their dies. These two pics above here two of the sections I stocked.

On the last day Randy and I both helped break down the booth. It took the four of us working like a well oiled machine to get everything broken down. It took approximately 3 hours!!! Randy and Joep got along great and boy did we ROCK!!!

To see all the amazing products we carry simply visit the Elizabeth Craft Designs' website. They have quite a few things reduced currently so mack sure you don't miss out.  Also make sure to check out our You Tube channel each Friday for out 'Technique Friday with Els"

I promise you will not be disappointed!!! Happy Creating!

Elizabeth Craft Designs ~ New England Stone Wall & Gate

Hello Friends,

Today I am excited to share with you this adorable little scene I created using numerous Elizabeth Craft Designs' products.

To begin with I created a mask with a piece of scrap paper and 4 hand punched scalloped circles.

Using Tim Holtz Distress Inks along with his sponge applicators use the mask in various angles to create the clouds leaving a little white between each layer.

Next you will use the dies from the Susan's Garden Country Scapes - New England Stone Wall & Gate. This set comes with three dies. The Gate die was cut from white Soft Finish card stock. The background piece is also die cut from white Soft Finish card stock and then inked with a distressed inks to create a mortar look.

Using multiple Distress Inks color a piece of white Soft Finish card stock before die cutting your stones. By using multiple colors it makes the final little pieces look like actual stones. Below shows the wall half way completed. Using Elizabeth Craft Designs' Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets and ECD's tweezers makes this challenging step a piece of cake.

The stamps used for this project came from this wonderful stamp and die set called Birch Forest from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  They have been colored with Copic markers and die cut with the coordinating dies, which are sold separately.

The stamped and die cut images were popped up using foam tape. This gives it a wonderful texture.

Elizabeth Craft Designs' Product List:

White Soft Finish Card Stock
Susan's Garden New England Stone Wall & Gate
Krista Schneider's Birch Forest Stamps & Die Sets
Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheets 81/2x11"
Tweezers

Other Supplies Used:

LDRS Creative & Polkadoodle Presents the Time for Team Stamp Line

Hi Friends,

When I was a little kid my family was stationed in England and afternoon tea was an everyday event. My mom has always loved hot tea so this was an extra special time for her as well. This entire Polkadoodle stamp line is absolutely breathtaking. Make sure to check down below my photos for the link to check out all the Design Teams card samples. I was quite impressed by the array of gorgeous projects.

I have chosen "A Tea Cup Full of Wishes" from Polkadoodles for my stamp and I have used the Coordinating Time for Tea 6x6 paper pack which is just beautiful paper.

For the LDRS Creative die collection I have chosen the "Regal Frame" Die set also by Polkadoodles along with LDRS Creative Majestic Rectangles Labels Set, the Key Tailed Dragon Fly Die Set., and the "Grace build a Card" die set.

Elizabeth Craft Designs' Shimmer Sheetz

Hello my friends,

I had an amazing time at the Stamp and Scrapbook Expo here in Atlanta Ga. Made lots of friends and consumed so many wonderful tips and techniques.

This months Challenge over at the Elizabeth Craft Designs' Challenge blog is to create a card using one of out "Friday Technique with Els"  your tube tutorials. I have chosen an older video that I watched that really inspired me to take a clean and simple card design and add a couple extra touched that really amped up the card. Watch this video for even more details:

For participating in this months challenge Elizabeth Craft Designs will be giving away a $20 Gift Card to use on our website to 3 winners.

To enter simply leave a comment on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Challenge post and tell us " "What your favorite technique learned from the Technique Friday With Els series". ”

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing

The winners will be announced on Friday, July 21 on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.
Here is my take on a card using the sanding technique that Els shares in the above you tube video. This was super simple to do and I just love how a tiny bit of the peel off stickers really jazzed it up!

To recreate this card simply run a piece of Shimmer Sheetz through your die cut machine inside a embossing folder. Then taking a sanding block, simply sand the top of the Shimmer Sheetz until you desired look is achieved. This can be done on either side (Embossed or De bossed sides)

Next cut a red card base and a white mat and attach all together. Half a doily was used with a horizontal stripe of card stock. Added to the stripe is a simple glitter line sticker. Did you know Elizabeth Craft Designs carried a large array of stickers? These stickers really can add that little extra touch which makes your card sparkle!

Lastly, I used the Labels and Circle die set which has been reduced to $4.95!!!! Grab it while it is available! The sentiment was used from the Dreams Sentiment Set.

Here is a close up to show you the added texture using the Shimmer Sheetz along with the Peel Off Stickers. Very simple to add a little something extra special to your cards.

I hope you have enjoyed todays challenge. Make sure to head on over to the ECD Challenge blog for your chance to WIN!

Elizabeth Craft Designs ~ Celebrate You Scallop Shaped Card

Hi Friends,
I am here with you to share my newest Elizabeth Craft Designs' project. Today I have played with lots of our dies along with stickers and glitter all from Elizabeth Crafts. I had tons of fun!

Follow these easy steps below to create this lovely scallop shaped card.

Step 1: To create the glittered roses you first add a piece of double sided adhesive to a piece of Soft Finish Card Stock.

Step 2: Peel off the background from your black sticker sheet, this makes it easier to use. Next you will peel off the Elizabeth Craft Designs backing to reveal the sticky side. Set aside.

Step 3: Using the backing as a transfer sheet just remove the black outline sticker and lay it on the transfer sheet sticky side up.

Step 4: Lay your piece of card stock sticky side down on top of the black sticker. This will transfer the sticker to the sticky side of your white paper.

Step 5: Add Microfine Glitter to the entire piece, polish by rubbing all the glitter into the paper. See below.

Step 6: Using your alcohol markers simply color directly onto the glittered piece inside the black lines. The sample was done in Copic markers in the following colors ~

R22, R24, R29
YG 13, YG17
B01, B02
E23, E25, E27

Step 7: After coloring use the 2nd. smallest oval die from the Fitted Ovals set to carefully cut out the colored roses.

Step8: Use the 3rd smallest Dotted Scallop Oval to cut a blue piece of card stock.

Step 9: Cut a piece of black Soft Finish card stock to cut the background piece.

Step 10: Cut a piece of black Soft Finish card stock 4 3/4" x 12" and score in half. Using the largest Dotted Scallop Oval die cut the folded card with a slight amount of the fold being uncut. See below. This forms scalloped shaped card base.

Step 11: Die cut the largest die in the Entwined Ovals set in red card stock

Step 12: Die cut the word dies 4 times each and glue together. This will give the card a little added dimension.

Step 13: The large black oval will be glued to the Card base lining up the scallops.

Step 14: Glue the red Entwined Ovals piece onto the black. Add a few of the Black/Silver Glitter Dots to the Entwined Ovals piece for a little added interest.

Step 15: Glue the blue Dotted Scallop Oval to the center of the card then using foam tape add the glitter roses to that.

Step 16. Attach the "Celebrate" and "You" pieces to complete the card.
This last photo shows how the raised flowers and extra thick lettering gives this beautiful card more dimension.

Elizabeth Craft Designs' Supply List:

Glitter Dots - Black/Silver
Roses in Oval black sticker
Fitted Ovals
Dotted Scalloped Ovals
Entwined Ovals
Thinking of you Die
Celebrate Die
Soft Finish Card Stock

LDRS ~ Smile

Hi Friendly Peeps,

I'm here with you today to share a bright and cheerful card that is surely able to make you smile. Early in June I attended a crop when 2 friends of mine shared their Tim Holtz crayons with the group. It was my first time using them and it was such fun. I created 2 backgrounds that day. The first one is used in this card and the second is to follow in my next LDRS Creative post later this month.

I have used Copic Markers to color in the All Dressed Up Prosecco Time Stamp. I really had fun designing with all these bright colors. For the dies I chose to use the Dew Drop Border Die along the bottom as well as the Smile Word Die  These word dies are really fun. Click HERE to see them all.

Happy Stamping!

Elizabeth Craft Designs ~ Using Some Scraps!

Hi Friends,

I have been working on organizing my craft room and keep running across these extra pieces from a previous project that I used Fitted Frames 2 Lace Squares. So rather than sitting them a side yet again I decided to use them along with this "coloring" post for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

My card is quite simple using 3 of the pieces left from the die set along with a tea pot from the "Tea Time Clear Stamps" I have colored the tea pot with my Copic markers purposely to coordinate with the scraps left over from the dies. As you can see below I still have pieces left. Pretty cool that we can get about 3 projects done with one die set.

Elizabeth Craft Designs Products:

Fitted Frames 2 Lace Squares

Tea Time Clear Stamps

Other items used:

Copic Markers V01, V04, YG93, YG95, E00, E11

Ivory Card Stock along with scraps in Purple & Green

Purple Trim from my stash

One last look at the close up of my coloring...

Happy Coloring my friends! Melanie

LDRS Creative Inspired to Grow

Hi Friends,

Today I have a unique card idea. I have used the TLC Inspired Line for the stamped part of my card. These stamps are created for bible journaling but can also be used in both card making and in scrapbooks.

After coloring the stamp I played around with this design idea and came up with a mixture of LDRS products that all went together well.

LDRS Creative Products Used:

1. TLC Inspired Crafting "Inspired Edge Grow" stamps

2. Peaceful Dove Edge Die

3. Allifair Build a Card Die Set (for fence, clouds, and dragonfly)

My absolute favorite thing about LDRS Creative Products is that they are so versatile. For example; with a little trimming I was able to turn the Peaceful Dove Edge die to create the growing tree in my project and the fence etc from the Allifair set worked perfectly with this as well.

Have an awesome day my friends, Until next time... Keep Crafting! Melanie

Elizabeth Craft Designs' Monthly Color Challenge

Hello Crafty Peeps!

Today we have a really fun Challenge over on the Elizabeth Craft Designs' challenge blog. Our Challenge this month is to create a set of 3 Clean and Simple (CAS) cards using 3 stamps from the same stamp set. A lot of the team rarely does CAS designs so it was so much fun designing for this challenge.

As you can see I have used some really fun coordinating papers which are BRAND NEW over at Elizabeth Craft Designs. They matched this stamp set perfectly. Couldn't you totally see this set of cards being perfect for a Tea Party?

Now lets look at the cards individually...

Each of these cards are featuring the brand new paper stack called "Cucina With Love". These papers are available in both 6x6" and 12x12" which makes them perfect for both card makers as well as scrapbookers!!!

I have used Copic markers to color in the stamped images and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. To focus on each stamped image I popped the images up with foam tape then used the "Dotted Scallop Squares" and the coordinating squares die set to frame each image. I will link all of these supplies down below.

Elizabeth Craft Designs' Ribbon 1 Dies with Oxide Inks

Hi Friends,

I am back today to share a fun card made from the Elizabeth Craft Designs' Ribbons 1 die set by Els van de Burgt Studio. I decided to get out my Distress Oxide Inks and play with the pieces created from die cutting the Ribbons 1 dies from the card front.

Steps by Step Instructions:

1. Cut a card base to 5.5" x 8" and score in half.

2. Cut a piece of yellow card stock to 5.5" x 4" and attach to card front

3. Cut a piece of watercolor paper to 5.5" x 4"

4. Using the first ribbons die place it about .75" up from the bottom of the watercolor paper and die cut a ribbon. This will create 3 pieces. (card front, ribbon, and strip below the ribbon)
Repeat this process with two more ribbon dies until you have 7 pieces total. (3 will be ribbons and 4 will be the pieces of watercolor paper between the ribbons.)

5.  Put the ribbons aside and use Distress Oxide inks and water to create the inked effect. See Friday with Els post using Distress Oxide inks for more details on this technique.

6. Beginning from the bottom begin gluing pieces in place starting with first Oxide piece followed by the first ribbon etc. The pieces nest very closely together so there is really only one direction they can be put together.

7. When you get to the last piece it will hang over the top of the car. Simply cut the excess off.

8. Lastly cut 3 of the "celebrate" die and glue them together. This adds extra interest and texture to your card. Glue in place.

LDRS Creative Magnolia Splendor

Hi Friends,

Welcome back. I am super glad you choose to visit with me today. I am sharing a really sweet card today using some amazing products by LDRS Creative.

The paper and stamps are part of our TLC Inspired Crafting collection. I choose both the stamp set named "Magnolia Splendor" as well as the paper from the same collection called "Soft Blush"
Make sure to stop by the LDRScreative.com store to see all of the TLC Inspired Crafting coordinating collections.

Along with the above mentioned products from LDRScreative I also utilized the Dotty Doily Die Set by Polkadoodles. This breathtaking die set allowed me to create a beautiful doily that I was able to stamp and color on. I arranged all of the magnolia stamps from the Magnolia Splendor set and stamped them in the center of the doily. Then I colored them and added a little stickles to them to make them sparkle. Also from the Dotty Doily Die Set I also used the smaller dies to create these beautiful flowers. I have to say that was my favorite part. I inked their edges and added glitter to give them such texture. The sentiment I used was also part of the Magnolia Splendor set. It is a great set to have in your collection.

Above are some close ups of the hand shaped flowers using the small dies in the Dotty Doily Die Set. It is for sure a "Must Have" die set for sure!

Thank you for stopping by today and for viewing my work. If you have enjoyed yourself I would be honored if you would follow me by email. This way you never miss another post. Happy Stamping!

Elizabeth Craft Designs Flower Power Background

Hi Friends,

Today I am sharing a fun colored background using Elizabeth Craft Designs' stamps along with Copic markers. This was so much fun to stamp & color! I used the Clear Flower Power Stamp Set by Krista Schneider.

 Step by Step directions:

1. For card base cut a piece of black card stock to 8.5 x4.25"

2. Cut Silver Foil paper to 4 1/8"x 5 3/8"

3. For the white paper which will be colored. first begin stamping the flower power stamped image in a collage fashion to where the edges of each flower just barely touch each other. Stamp until you have a section of paper a little larger than your card base. Then trim the paper to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8 "

4. Color flowers using Copic Markers

5. Stamp each flower center with the flower center stamp from the same stamp set using Versa Mark. Heat emboss each center with silver embossing powder.

6. By cutting a small portion of the Stitched Fish Tail Banners you can easily shorten the banner while keeping all the stitching. See below.

7: Cut the "Thanks" word die with silver foil paper to coordinate with the embossed flower centers as well as the background layer.

8: Finally attach your banner and sentiment to finish the card.
